Edward Francis Crampton
age 80 of Zephyrhills, FL. and formerly of Algonac, MI. passed away June 7, 2015 in Zephyrhills. He was born September 4, 1934 in Battle Creek, MI.
Ed served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a life member of the Algonac VFW Post 3901. He served as a volunteer with the Algonac Fire Department, having served for a time as Chief, retiring after 43 years of service to the community. He worked for the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department before spending the remainder of his career with DTE Energy, retiring in 1995.
Mr. Crampton is survived by his children Lori (Frank) Sass, Linda Scott, Emily (Earl) McCartney, Richard Fougnie and Robert (Terry) Crampton, grandchildren Ryan and Ian Sass, Sarah Herring, Bryan Scott, Megan Baker, Philip, Stephen, and Timothy Martis, Rebekah Hall, Bethany Shaeffer, Amber Pollard, Hailey McCartney, Eddie and Alyssa Crampton, and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Eva Crampton, wife Ruth, brother Roger, daughter Sharon, and granddaughter Cora.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday June 20, 2015 in the Algonac Church of Christ. Visitation 1:00 PM Saturday until time of service at the church. Memorial donations may be made to the Algonac/Clay Goodfellows.
