Helen Jane Cameron (Schueler)

June 23, 1928 – Nov 2, 2012

Loving wife of John G. Cameron Sr. Married 64 years.   Mother of John Jr. (Ann) of Grand Rapids, MI, David of Forth Worth, TX, Don (Christine) of St. Clair Shores, MI, and Kenneth (Patricia) Cameron of Waterville, OH . Grandmother of Clara, Kenneth Jr. (Rob), David Jr. (Brian), Andrew, Cal , Courtney, and Grace Cameron

Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Schueler. Sister of the late Arthur, Dorothy (Chope), and Robert Schueler. Sister of James L. and Harry Schueler.

The late Mrs. Cameron grew up in the Indian Village in Detroit spending all of her childhood summers with her family on Harsens Island.   After high school she attended Michigan State University.

In 1948 she married John G. Cameron of Detroit and in 1956 the couple moved to Birmingham, MI where they raised their four sons.

For 18 years prior to her retirement, Mrs. Cameron was a substitute teacher in the Birmingham Schools District.   She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed visits with her grandchildren at the cottage. In recent years Helen and John spent their winters in Cape Canaveral, FL and their summers on Harsens Island.

A private family service will be held next week prior to interment.   Donations in her memory would be appreciated at the Reader’s Cove Library, 3064 South Channel, Drive, Harsens Island, MI. 48028.
