Obituaries

Larry J. Golab age 89 of Algonac, MI. died January 2, 2016 in his home.  He was born May 31, 1926 to the late Agnes and Frederick Golab in Poland. He married Nancy Ruth Jordan in March of 1983, she died January 13, 2014. Larry immigrated to the United States in 1947 and settled in Detroit, MI.  He became a proud U. S. Citizen in 1957.  He retired from the Ford Motor Company. His hobbies included the Camera Club and the Computer Club.  He enjoyed outdoor activities, doing yard work, and watching old movies. Mr. Golab is survived by his lifelong friends Lori and Vaughn Huff and Dana Smith, step children Charles, Cindy, Tom, Riley, and Perry. Predeceased by dear friends Alice and Hugh MacDougall.  A special thank you to Katie Schuman, Paula Creekmore, Kellie Schroeder, and Seasons Hospice in participating with his care. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday January 6, 2016 in the Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac.  Visitation 10:00 AM until time of service Wednesday.
