Annie Gibson Maxwell
age 105 died Monday October 25, 2010 in the Church of Christ Care Center in Clinton Twp., MI. She was born November 5, 1904 in New Prestwick, Scotland to the late Archibald and Jeannie Gibson.
Annie came to the United States in 1928, living in Chicago, IL. and Detroit, MI. before calling Algonac, MI. her home, and eventually, Clinton Twp. She was an amazing woman, who lived quite a full and exciting life. She left lasting impressions with any person she met, and was as commonly known for her spitfire antics as for her kind heart. She was an avid reader, relished the opportunity to travel and loved the theatre. She is survived by her grandchildren, Kathleen Blake of St. Cloud, FL, Maureen Welch of Chicago, IL, Beth (Bob) Welch-Jones of Sawyer, MI, and Amy (Jason) Monahu of Berwyn, IL, great grandchildren Courtney (Ray) Chamberlin of St. Clair, MI, Deidre Blake of St. Cloud, FL, Alexis Blake of Palm Bay, FL, Daisy Monahu and Lily Monahu both of Berwyn, IL., great great grandchildren Mason Chamberlin and Mia Chamberlin both of St. Clair, MI. Ms. Maxwell was predeceased by her daughter Patricia Dare Welch, and 11 brothers and sisters.
Cremation has taken place. A Memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by the Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac. MI.
