George J. Neumann Jr.
85 of Algonac, MI. died August 26, 2015 in his home. He was born March 16, 1930 in Detroit, MI. He married Mary Ann Darga on April 20, 1953 in Detroit.

Mr. Neumann was a Korean War Veteran and a Purple Heart recipient having served with the U. S. Army. He was a co-owner with his family of the Neumann Hardware in St. Clair Shores, MI. He was a member of the Roofers Local 149, Detroit. He was a master craftsman in his field for more than 50 years. He was a member of the American Legion, East Detroit, Roseville Post 261. A man of great faith, who volunteered selflessly for many Catholic parishes and organizations. He was a proud and respected husband, father, grandfather, friend, and mentor.

Mr. Neumann is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Ann, children Catherine (Louis) Wenz, George III(Gwen), Craig (Linda), Cheryl (Terry) Tatro, Thomas, and Mary (Wayne) Serilla, brothers Francis (Pat) Neumann and Roy (Frances) Neumann, a sister-in-law Angeline Neumann, 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother Louis Neumann, grandson Brian Neumann, and a daughter-in-law Kathleen Neumann.

Mr. Neumann will be instate at 10:00 AM Saturday August 29, 2015 with Mass at 10:30 AM in the Our Lady on the River Parish St. Catherines Catholic Church Algonac. Visitation 1-4 & 6-9 PM Friday in the Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac. Burial will be in the St. Catherines Cemetery, Algonac.
