Flora McHenry Nugent
age 80 of Clay Twp., MI. went to be with the Lord on Sunday May, 2, 2010. She was born July 5, 1929 in Vegreville, Alberta, Canada, the daughter of Paul and Rosetta (nee Fisher) McHenry. She married William Nugent on December 27, 1947 in the Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City, MI. He preceded her in death on November 8, 1999.

Flora was employed at the offices of Chris-Craft Corporation for 14 years. In 1962 she accepted a position at Monnier, Inc., working there until her retirement in 1986, when she retired as Administrative Assistant.

She was an active member of St. Catherines Catholic Church; the St. Catherines Ladies Guild; an active Life Member of River District Hospital Auxiliary; a member of Pine Shores Ladies Golf League; a Life member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary; and the Algonac-Clay Twp. Historical Society.

Flora’s greatest pleasures in life were her church, her loving husband, her home, her animals and her golf.

She is survived by her brother-in-law James Nugent, Sister-in-law Dorothy Nugent and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Leona Munro Jonas.

Mrs. Nugent will be instate at 10:30 AM Thursday May 6, 2010 in the St. Catherines Catholic Church, Algonac, MI. with Mass at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be 1-4 & 6-9 PM Wednesday, with a Rosary service at 7:00 PM, in the Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac,. Burial will be in the St. Catherines Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations should be made to the St. Catherines Church or to the Blue Water Humane Society.
