Henry Peter Sobkowski
age 69 of Algonac, MI. died August 6, 2009 in Port Huron, MI. He was born October 15, 1939 in Hamtramck, MI. He married Patricia (Sutton) Cross on August 25, 1984 in St. Martins Church, Marine City, MI.

Mr. Sobkowski was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served on the USS Toledo. He retired from the United Parcel Service after 33 years of service as a driver. Henry was nicknamed “Captain Hank” because of his love of fishing and being on the water.

Mr. Sobkowski is survived by his wife Patricia, children; Ellen Marie Hinson, Sharon Olenik, and Henry Robert (Julie ) Sobkowski, stepchildren; Christine Cross, Cynthia (Tom) Collins, Catherine (Scott) Vermander, Carole (John A.) Synnesvedt, and David (Lori) Cross, siblings; Stanley, and Cecilia, 4 grandchildren 7 step-grandchildren, 2 great step-grandchildren.

Funeral services 11:00 AM Monday, August 10, 2009 in the Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac. Visitation Sunday 1-4 & 6-9 PM . Burial will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Algonac.
